The List

Thanks to my fantastic family and friends Christmas was relaxing and full of everything it should be: laughter, wine, chocolate and thoughtfulness. I am spending this afternoon in the studio, but before I came down here I de-Christmasfied my house. Always a bittersweet task for me, but made better by listening to Roseanne Cash's The List. Anyone who knows me knows I love the Boss and so track three made my morning especially great. I also enjoy Wilco, Neko Case and Rufus Wainright, so overall a great album, in my opinion. I took a few photos of this year's Christmas that I thought I'd share. The Buddha was my Christmas gift. It almost made my heart stop.

Also on the topic of The List, this is off Cash's website:

When I was 18, I was on the road with my dad (Johnny Cash, obivously). One day, we were sitting in the tour bus, talking about songs, and he mentioned a song, and I said, "I don’t know that one." He mentioned another one, and I said, "I don’t know that one, either." Then he started to get alarmed, so he spent the rest of the day making a list on a legal pad, and at the top he put "100 Essential Country Songs." And he handed it to me and he said, "This is your education."

Makes me think of what my own list might be...
