15 Things I Am Thankful for This Thanksgiving

It is Thanksgiving time here in Canada (why is it so much earlier than the American version?) and I just love this time of year. Besides the leaves being outstanding and my birthday coming soon, I always feel like autumn is a season of renewal and for me it feels so much more like a New Year that January 1 does.

So in the spirit of New Year resolutions, here are a few things that I am thankful for this year:

1. Coffee (and the fact that I share an office with a coffee-appreciator who needs it as much as I do)
2. My friends who are the family I've chosen and my family who are often my friends
3. New York and Paris

4. Wine-fuelled memories with some amazing people: at Bonny Doon in Santa Cruz, CA; on the dockside patio of  Hotel Eldorado in Kelowna, BC ; at the Plaza Athenee in Paris and so many nights in my living room and on my deck!
5. Yoga and Running (and Meditation, which helps make both possible)
6. Taking a risk with love
7. Lessons learnt the hard way
8. A quiet space to call my own
9. Rosie Earl Grey tea from the T-Salon . Instant transportation back to a rainy day walk with mom on the Highline. RIP T-Salon at Chelsea Market :(
10. The well-written novel, Vogue magazine and design blogs

11. An understanding boss who told me "as long as you get your work done, you can paint whenever you need to" and being part of a project that is monumental.
12. "No Surrender" at Giant's Stadium with my best friend and the Boss
13. Sushi at Sushi Club and their bring-your-own-wine policy (see also #4)
14. Mad Men night at the neighbours
15. Lâcher Prise

At The Calgary Zoo in the Bow River
